A number of solid and low mileage classics that have been stored in some North London lockups for 15-20 years have just emerged and are being offered for sale. Charles Millington owned the lockups, along with an associated car showroom that he traded from himself until 1980 when he rented the site out. More recently, the site was sold for redevelopment and Charles bought the cars stored there and transported them to his premises near Pershore in Worcestershire. . The cars, which have each been locked away for 15-20 years have all now been transported to rural Worcestershire Vehicles currently available comprise a 1978 MGB GT, 1973 Rover 2000 (one owner, 51,000 miles), 1959 Hillman Minx (31,000 miles) and a 1974 Austin 2200 that’s covered just 35,000 miles and is said to be ‘very solid and tidy’. Still to be recovered from the site at the time of going to press are a Rover 90, Reliant Scimitar GTE and a Jaguar MkII 2.4 that’s been retro-fitted with a 3.8 engine. All cars recovered have been ‘dusted off’ and put into running order. They have not, however been made roadworthy or MoT’d and are being sold as restoration projects, although all are complete and, according to the vendor, “won’t take a lot of work to put back on the road”.
