Approval has been given by Coventry City Council for the creation of a new supercar production plant on the former Jaguar site at Browns Lane. CPP, the company who owns the Dutch sportscar brand Spyker and the fearsome off-road builders Bowler, plans to reignite car production on the famous site. In addition, CPP together with Healey Sports Cars Switzerland Ltd. have confirmed that the new Jensen Interceptor concept, which was highlighted by Classic Car Buyer last year, will be produced onsite in Coventry. The entirely new Interceptor is apparently in the advanced stages of development and once the new 23-acre site has been brought online, the car should go into full production, creating 200 new jobs in the area. |
